Awesome Results with Video Content

A week ago we released a video in which we wanted to showcase our know-how in making book apps and bring out our playful attitude. The feedback has been great. Viewers at Adland.tv have rated the video 4.2 out of 5. And people have said our video is entertaining, to the point and very clever, capturing viewer’s attention.

One publisher was so excited that she immediately contacted us and wanted to set up a meeting at the Frankfurt Book Fair. Well, she already had booked a meeting with us couple of weeks ago. Now we have two meetings with her in Frankfurt. Also one of my friends wanted to get the same blue jeans I have in the video. That wasn’t one of the goals, but it shows how effective video content can be.

A bit about the brief. Our CEO asked for a video, which we could use to get publishing houses interested in our company. I wanted to make the video more applicable for a wider audience, so there are all the points we want publishers to remember about us, but it’s all presented in a humorous way.

I have scripted four short movies, so I took the lead on writing. My starting point was a toy digger, which you can see in the first shot. Quickly I added some common fairy tale themes to the script. There’s Pinocchio, Goldilocks, and Red Riding Hood’s grandmother who all should be recognized anywhere. Somehow even Conan O’Brien’s cartoon character sneaked in without being on the script. He’s on the wall behind grandmother. And the real digger in the end of the video shows you how rapid the growth can be.

It was pretty obvious from the beginning that we wouldn’t use any professional actors in our video. We wanted it to be more authentic, so we went with this B-class comedian as the Digital Marketing Manager. Also the elves and CEO are working here. The shooting took two days. On Monday, we shot the scenes on a mine near Oulu. On Wednesday, we were in our office, which had been decorated to fit the story. Then we waited for weeks to finally get this footage for you to see on YouTube.

After seeing the video, what do you remember about our message?

We wanted to tell you that Spinfy is a high-tech company with the latest tools, so our products are not scanned PDFs but inspiring interactive storybooks full of exciting things to do. However, usually our programmers and animators are not dressed as elves. But I’m not sure if they’re wearing green pantyhose on their free time.

Also, our products have only safe content that you can trust your kids with. This means you can be sure your children will settle down whenever they get an interactive storybook in their hands. In addition, our high-quality products are only a few taps away on the App Store. It’s so easy even your grandmother can do it.

Videos are an excellent way to tell a lot of important things in a short time. It took you more time to read this blog post than to watch our video. Next thing for us is to enhance the message in the video at the Frankfurt Book Fair by showing we’re really capable of doing all this.

That you produce a well thought out and high quality product - and that you have a sense of humour and great imagination. Good luck it all. :)
    Cheers.
