Book App About Children's Rights
Rabén & Sjögren, the leading children’s book publisher in Sweden, has published a free book application, called Alla barns rätt, together with Spinfy. The app goes through children’s rights in a humorous and thought-provoking way in Swedish. Launched on the Universal Children’s Day on Tuesday, the app is based on Pernilla Stalfelt’s illustrations and her interpretation of The United Nation’s Concention on the Rights of the Child.
“I think it’s very important to promote children’s rights. We saw a book app as an excellent channel to highlight this important cause and once in a while stop to really think about these things”, says Kimmo Alaniska, CEO at Spinfy. “I’m really excited that many Swedes have already downloaded this app. Currently it’s on the top of the free book apps category in the Swedish App Store. It tells us that many people want to find out more about children’s rights.”
The printed book, first published in 2009, is a collaboration between Bris, Ecpat, Plan Sverige, UNICEF, Rädda Barnen, SOS Barnbyar Sverige, World Childhood Foundation, and Barnombudsmannen.
